ABOUT THE FILMMAKER
Frederike Migom has studied acting in New York and filmmaking in Paris. After graduating she moved to Brussels where she started working for a film production company, Caviar Films.
In 2013 she directed her first short film ‘Malakim.’ ‘Malakim’ won the award for best fiction short at the Shanghai International film festival. In 2014 Frederike made a second short, ‘Adam and everything,’ as well as wrote and performed in a play, Orfea.
Her third short film followed in 2015, ‘Nkosi Coiffure.’ This received funding from the Flemish Audiovisual fund and is currently screening at many international film festivals, so far winning three awards in Valladolid, Washington DC and Brussels. Frederike is currently writing her first feature film ‘Binti’, with funding from the Flemish Audiovisual Fund, as well as working on a documentary, Si-G.
